I hope everyone has had a fantastic week! The sun has been shining here on Vancouver Island, which always makes me smile and definitely brightens my day. I thought I’d share with you a few highlights from my week!
On Saturday, my husband and I (Oh and of course Meeka!) took a little road trip down to Victoria. If you’ve never been, Victoria is a truly beautiful spot and a great mix of Island life & city culture. We went down to celebrate our friend’s birthday and had a great little getaway!
We stayed at the lovely Inn at Laurel Point. They’re currently undergoing some renovations but that doesn’t deter from it being a great spot. The location is prime and it’s within walking distance to the downtown core, tourist attractions & has gorgeous views of the harbour. And on the plus side, they’re puppy friendly and even accommodate with a dog bed, food dishes and home-baked gourmet dog treats. (Sounds like I should get a job in their marketing department…lol).
Since the weather was insanely nice for March, we took advantage and explored a bit of downtown. I couldn’t believe the cherry blossoms were already starting to come out. We ended up having a few drinks on the patio at The Local. It was a great spot to enjoy the sun & have a beverage or two!
On Tuesday, we received our first Hello Fresh order! Our friends Tessa & Stu recommended it so we thought we’d give it a try! Our meals for this week were Chili Chicken, Mushroom Melts and Steak au Jus. I was really impressed with all the packaging and quality of food.
Here’s a look at the chili chicken which turned out great, if I do say so myself!
On Wednesday we were lucky enough to take the day off and take our nephews out on the boat. It’s spring break for the kids and we wanted to spend some time with them. We ventured over to Newcastle Island, which is a local provincial park & one of my favourite places to visit in the summer! It was also the first day of spring, so this was a great way to celebrate that!
And that’s a wrap on my week! I hope everyone had a fabulous week and cheers to the weekend!
